  • The Bourgeois February Revolution.

a) organised by radicel Marxists, placed the communists led by Lenin in power. Russia withdrew from the war, and then drafted a constitution, which transferred large estates to the peasants, gave workers control of factories and nationalised banks and transport. These actions led to a Civil War in which the Bolsheviks defeated the counterrevolutionary forces.

b) deposed Tsar Nicholas II and established a republic, but their sluggishness and decision to remain in the world war led to their downfall.

Soy de los vuestros

mayo 18, 2018

No somos tan distintos.

Buen fin de semana.

World War I

abril 22, 2018

Cemetery World War I, near to Verdun.

World War I began in 1914, after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and lasted until 1918. During the conflict, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire (the Central Powers) fought against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan and the United States (the Allied Powers). Thanks to new military technologies and the horrors of trench warfare, World War I saw unprecedented levels of carnage and destruction. By the time the war was over and the Allied Powers claimed victory, more than 16 million people—soldiers and civilians alike—were dead.
